We are entering the final prep month of some very complex demos and need commitments.

This is where to post your ideas  for Oktoberfest 2008

This year we will be using the computer classroom for presenting demo's.

This will be repeated every Half Hour.

There will be a 5 minute lead in video about the computer club

each row will contain one demo which will last 10 minutes.

This leaves 15 minutes at the end for Q&A before next presentation.

Questions are:   What to demo,  What should the intro Video/Powerpoint contain.

Let's hear from you.  This is where Oktoberfest for the computer club will happen.

A demo from the New Technoligies SIG group on an iMac dual booting OS X and Vista,  Why you may want to do this. - I have this covered (Arnie Gelb) just not sure where to set this up.  Any New Tech SIG Members reading this please call me.

Demos By Row

My suggestions on the demos:

•  demo digital imaging  show the process from taking a picture or 2 with a camera, loading it to the computer, altering the image, creating a  a slide show and uploading it to a photo sharing site online...in just a few easy steps. 
•  demo digital video a quick video right on site and uploading it from a digital camera and then editing  it online and posting it
• demo greeting card / scrapbook page/ business card  show how to make a greeting card and then give it away with an envelope to a participant or demonstrate how to make a digital scrapbook page or business card
• music demo uploading music to an ipod or burn a cd with music
• demo how to use your phone /pda/gps sending a film clip or photo from your phone to your pc or sending an IM from your phone or pc. 
• the NewTechSig could demo some of the same stuff it did last year
• new SIG on investing could demo online banking or some such site on following your stock, or adding an RSS feed to your PC 
• geneology demo the new software. 
• Our webmaster's online forum could be explained and how easy it is for someone to post a question and get a quick answer. 
• MISC-- Even something simple as "the power of vista as a new operating system" and how it differs from XP, or how simple it is to use JING or how to backup your files...mini versions of some of the classes...or demo how the green screen works in video editing

• ...these are a few of my thoughts...and the best part is if you could get a few people to do the demos they could be different throughout the day or repeated a few times and then PEOPLE could leave and someone else do a different  demo so no one would be exhausted at the end of the day.   Rita M Skarbek

 ...and of course the major question is would anyone volunteer to do some of this stuff AND WHO WOULD DO WHAT AND WHEN  once a decision is made on what the demos will be.

WE are going to have three rows of pc's.   Each row will have the same demo.   only three demos.  Any other demos will be outside the classroom.

Are we going to have a separate room like last year?
